What can microblading do for you? In today's fast-paced world, many women find themselves grappling with the daily task of filling, shaping, and grooming their eyebrows. It's a routine that demands precious time and patience, resources that may be in short supply amidst our modern busy lifestyles.
Let's be honest, not all of us possess the innate skill of a professional makeup artist. Perhaps your brows fall short of perfection, displaying unevenness, sparseness, or patchiness that can be a constant source of frustration. Whether self-inflicted due to years of over plucking or simply not winning the "good eyebrow gene lottery," these challenges or scenarios matter little. You simply want a solution.
Or, on the other hand, you could be relatively fortunate to have eyebrows that are not all that bad, and you just want to enhance them to their absolute best . It's understandable to strive for flawlessly "on point" brows. After all, when it comes to your face, your eyebrows hold a uniquely significant role in defining your overall appearance.
So, what exactly is microblading? It's an art form where skilled artists delicately handcraft each stroke, using specialized tools and high-quality microblading pigments to create realistic hair-like marks. The result is fuller, more defined eyebrows that blend seamlessly with your natural hair. What's even better is that the microblading procedure is tailored to your unique facial features, ensuring the results are as individual as you are.
At Ellebrow in New York, we believe that every woman deserves to feel confident and empowered. Our team of skilled microblading artists, led by our founder with a background in makeup artistry, will work closely with you to design the perfect eyebrow shape that complements your personal style. Whether you prefer a bold arch or a softer, more natural look, we'll bring your vision to life.
We understand that there may be limitations based on factors such as your existing brows, skin type, or any previous work you've had done. Our commitment to transparency means that if we can't achieve the desired outcome or meet your expectations, we'll be honest and upfront about it. Your satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities.
Microbladingisn't for everyone, and that's okay. Our skilled artists will carefully assess your suitability for the procedure, taking into account factors like your skin type and existing brow hair. If microblading isn't the best fit for you, we'll suggest alternative options, such as microshading or powder brows, to achieve the results you desire.

We can combine Microshading with Microblading, also known as Powder Brows or Ombre Brows, for the best of both worlds. We can even let you see just the microblading results first, before deciding. Optimal skin is required to be a candidate for microblading or combination brows.
At Ellebrow, we're artists first. Just as each face is a canvas with its distinct lines, curves, and features, we approach your eyebrows with the same unique perspective. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all; instead, we immerse ourselves in understanding the intricacies of your facial structure.

Our ethos? Celebrate and amplify what you inherently possess, rather than redefining from zero. With precision, passion, and a touch of artistry, we aim to highlight and enhance your best features.
Our personalized “boutique” service focuses entirely on you, and we take as much time as needed to ensure that you get the best possible result.
Most microblading appointments take about three hours on average from start to finish. When you first arrive, we will discuss your existing eyebrows and your desired outcome. We will focus on achieving the desired shape first. Our artist, who has a background as a professional makeup artist, will offer advice on what may work best for your features and face, but you will have the final say on everything.
The design will be pre-drawn on your face. We will review and make adjustments as needed until you are completely satisfied with the drawing. We will take as much time as necessary during this stage to ensure we achieve a result that pleases you. We will also review color tone and shade options. Once the design meets your satisfaction and you approve it, we will apply numbing cream, and you can relax while it takes effect.
The procedure itself typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. Afterward, we will provide you with oral and written aftercare instructions and information about a “perfecting session”, which is usually scheduled for 30 to 90 days after the initial procedure.

While individual pain tolerance may vary, most clients report minimal discomfort during the microblading process. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to help alleviate any potential discomfort. Most of our clients rate the discomfort at a level of 1-3 out of 10. Some even doze off! We often find that clients who initially express concerns about pain are pleasantly surprised at how easy the process is.

Our comprehensive microblading appointments typically span approximately 3 hours, allowing ample time for a thorough consultation, meticulous design process, and comprehensive client education. We understand that microblading has a significant and long-lasting impact on your facial appearance. Therefore, we prioritize dedicating sufficient time to ensure exceptional results that align with your unique preferences and features. Our commitment to providing a meticulous and detailed experience sets the foundation for achieving the best possible outcome that you can confidently enjoy over the following 1-2 years or more.
Immediately after getting microblading your brows will look fantastic! Strarting on the next day, they will darken and look bolder. Most of the healing process takes places over about ten days. For a details outline of the healing process, see our detailed article on the Microblading Healing Process.

Most of our clients are back at work the next day or even right after their appointment! There will be a few days when your brows will possibly appear darker, bolder and more prominent than normal. There is likely to be some scabbing 3-5 days afterwards and then a flaking off. The scabbing is usually minimal for microblading, but heavier for microshading or combination brows.
Our goal is for you to have the best microblading outcome possible. Detailed written aftercare instruction will be provided to you as well as explained in detail by your artist.
Please be aware of the following restrictions for after your microblading appointment:
Five to ten Days
Avoid activities which would cause you to sweat a lot.
Ten Days
We generally recommend Microshading for oily types, which will usually yield a much better result which will last longer. The fine hairlines created with microblading tend to blur over time on oily skin and eventually look like microshading anyway (however it will not look as good had it been done intentionally from the start).
Microblading and eyebrow tattooing, though often mentioned interchangeably, possess distinct differences. Here's a clear distinction between the two:
Duration: Microblading typically maintains its visibility for 2-3 years, whereas traditional eyebrow tattoos are permanent. The longevity discrepancy arises because the ink in microblading isn't implanted as deeply into the skin. As time progresses, the ink might shift underneath the skin or rise to the surface, causing it to appear lighter. Due to this, microblading often necessitates regular touch-ups.
Ink Color Stability: Microblading uses a specific type of ink that ensures the color remains consistent even as it fades. This means blacks won't morph into shades of blue or brown, unlike some traditional eyebrow tattooing techniques which might undergo color changes over time.
Technique: Microblading involves a manual, hand-drawn technique, while there are eyebrow tattooing methods that use machines, including the newer "nano brows" technique which creates fine, steadfast lines. However, the primary distinction remains that microblading is freehand, allowing for a bespoke design tailored to each client's unique facial structure and preferences.
It should be noted that the older style of what was commonely referred to as an "eyebrow tattoo" is no longer done (hopefuly and ask far as we know!) and has been replaced by microblading or microshading.
Nanoblading is really an evolution of microblading, utilizing ultra-fine needles to create precise incisions for more meticulous pigment application, mimicking natural hair strokes. The term 'Nanoblading' is primarily marketing-focused, highlighting the enhanced precision of tiny needles which have become the standard in the Permanent Makeup Industry.
It's distinct from Nano Brows, which is a different permanent makeup technique which utilizes a machine.
If you will be in the NY area for at least 4 weeks, we can schedule both your initial appointment the follow-up perfecting appointment withing that time-frame. If you will be in our area for less than 4 weeks, we can delay your follow-up perfecting appointment until you have the opportunity to return. This is not the most ideal situation, honestly, but we have many clients who can only visit New York annually and do not want to trust their face with anyone else. We can accomodate most situations and make it work.
It is violation of Section 260.21 of New York State Penal Law to tattoo minors under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent
We mainly use inorganic ink pigments as they tend to be more stable than organic pigments. They are also less likely to cause an allergic reaction (which is very rare, in any case). There may be some instances where we use different types of pigments for different types of treatments. For details and an list of ingredients in our pigments and after care product, please contact us directly.
Tipping for microblading is a personal decision and not obligatory. Clients who wish to express their appreciation for the artist’s skill and service often offer tips. It's important to consider the studio's tipping policy, the total cost of the procedure, regional tipping norms, and the quality of service received when deciding whether or not to tip.
While there's no strict rule, gratuities typically range from 10-20% of the total cost of the service. However, given the high cost of microblading, clients should not feel pressured to tip a commensurate percentage if it is outside their budget. Every gesture of appreciation, no matter how small, is valued.
The art of microblading dates back to ancient Asia, where women used natural dyes to enhance their eyebrows. In recent years, it has become a popular beauty trend in the Western world. Microblading is a permanent tattoo technique that uses a hand-held tool to create fine, hair-like strokes in the eyebrow area. The procedure has evolved over time, with advancements in tools, pigments, and techniques. Today, microblading is a highly sought-after service for those looking to enhance their natural brows or restore them after hair loss. At Ellebrow in NY, our experienced artists use the latest techniques and high-quality pigments to create natural-looking, beautiful brows for our clients. For more, see our article on "The History of Microblading".
Yes, Microblading is not just for women but can be a suitable eyebrow enhancement option for men as well.

At our inception, we made a decision to prioritize our clients' needs and ensure that our focus remains solely on providing them with the best possible service, and our commitment to this philosophy remains steadfast to this day.
