Microblading Healing Process

The Microblading Healing Process: A Comprehensive Guide

The Microblading Healing Process: What to Expect

Microblading, a form of permanent makeup, can dramatically enhance the appearance of your eyebrows. However, achieving the perfect brows is about more than just the microblading process itself - understanding the microblading healing stages is equally important. This comprehensive guide by Ellebrow Microblading   will take you through the microblading healing stages and help you understand what to expect throughout the microblading healing process.

Initial Reaction: First 24 Hours

Immediately after your microblading session at Ellebrow, your brows might appear darker and more prominent than you expected. This is normal and part of the initial healing stage. However, despite this more dramatic look, your brows will still look great. Many of our clients return to work the same or next day without any issue.

During the first 24 hours, to facilitate healing, your technician will apply a protective balm to your brows. For the first 5-10 days, you should avoid activities that cause sweating and for ten days, refrain from swimming, sunbathing, saunas, and steam rooms. Also, it's important to avoid applying makeup on the brows or using skincare products in that area for the first ten days. Gently clean your brows with water, but avoid soaking them.

Scabbing Phase: Days 4 to 7

Between the fourth and seventh day post-microblading, your eyebrows will begin to scab, a crucial stage in the microblading healing process. This protective layer helps the skin underneath to regenerate and the microblading pigment to settle in. It's essential not to pick at or scratch the scabs, as this could cause pigment loss or scarring.

If you opted for combination microshading with the microblading, expect the scabbing to be heavier and appear blotchy during this peeling phase. It's wise to plan your social or professional commitments around this phase, as the scabbing and peeling can be quite noticeable. Remember, resist the urge to rub or pick off the scabs; they'll naturally peel off as your skin heals. This scabbing phase typically lasts between 7 to 14 days.

Healing 'Roller Coaster': Days 8 to 21

During the next stage of the microblading healing process, typically between day 8 and 21, you'll experience the 'healing roller coaster'. The color of your brows may start to fade, sometimes significantly, before stabilizing. You may also notice patchiness or uneven color during this stage. These changes are all standard parts of the microblading healing time.

Touch-Up Time: Week 4 to 6

Around 4-6 weeks post-procedure, you'll return to our Manhattan studio for a perfecting touch-up session. This appointment allows us to refine the shape, fill in any areas that may have healed unevenly, and adjust the color if necessary. This session is an essential part of the microblading healing process, ensuring you're fully satisfied with the results.

Beyond the First Month: Long-Term Care and Maintenance

After your brows have fully healed and you're enjoying your new, effortless look, think about long-term care. For best results, we recommend an "eyebrow renewal" session every 2-3 years. Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen and protecting your brows from the sun can also help prolong the life of the pigment.
